Ullen Sentalu Museum Is a museum in the area of Kaliurang Yogyakarta that makes me curious. Some people say that this museum is one of the places to visit in Yogya. The Ullen Sentalu Museum is named. Museum featuring the culture and life of the Mataram Dynasty aristocrats present with different concepts from museums in Indonesia in general.
Stretching at Ullen Sentalu Museum the tourists will be greeted with a cool air that ranges from 15 – 25 degrees Celsius. The quiet atmosphere that blends with the natural mountains further adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Vernacular architecture that blends with nature and surrounded by lush trees become a great place to take pictures.
Museums are usually identical to the relics of the past. But not here. Ullen Sentalu Museum also serves as an art gallery, and is dominated by the work of modern artists. Therefore, visitors are not allowed to document most of the museum area, because the works can not be published haphazardly. Most of the collections consist of paintings and photographs. There is no label in front of each collection, because the concept of this museum is more emphasis on the story or the events behind every object. And that’s where the guiding function plays a role, as the story teller, making it easier for visitors to absorb information. By this museum, we seem to be brought back to the past.
The museum collection is divided into several rooms. The first is the Art Room and Gamelan that hold a set of gamelan collection. Furthermore, Guwo Selo Giri became the showroom of painting figures representing 4 figures of the Mataram Dynasty. Kampung Kambang is divided into 5 showrooms that showcase the collection of batik, poetry, until the live album GRKay. Siti Nurul Kusumawardhani. The last one is Sasana Sekar Buwana Room and Letja Randa Corridor which is an outdoor museum.
